Us Young Women Matter - an excellent SNAICC national workshop in Melbourne

Early this year SNAICC supported workshops across six states and territories around the theme, Us Young Women Matter. These local workshops involved over 70 young women developing local resources and the national workshop following in Melbourne.

The national workshop was held at the Wurundjeri Tribe Land Compensation Cultural Heritage Council at the Abbottsford Abbey, where the Yarra River and Merri Creek were in full flow. Fifteen young women, their chaperones and SNAICC and Wurundjeri Elders and staff togther developed a load rich resources for national distribution about why us young women matter – paintings, words, photos, film, dance and song. The event flew like magic – everyone really gets the message and wants it spread. Us young women, we really matter.
