	Slow progress on UN declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples: Mick Gooda The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples celebrated its fourth anniversary last week, but Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner Mick Gooda says progress on its implementation has been slow.

	New positions available at SNAICC based in Melbourne We are looking for energetic and creative people to join our Resource Service team to work in this extremely important, challenging and rewarding sector. There are two Project Officer, Resource Service positions ($65,761 pa), and a Graphic Design Project Officer position for the Resource Service ($65,761 pa).

'Change for our Children' AbSec Conference 2011 - Penrith, NSW 'Change for our Children’ is the 2011 theme of The Aboriginal Child, Family and Community Care State Secretariat's (AbSec) biennial conference. Registrations and a call for abstracts is now open. Conference dates: 7 Dec 2011 to 9 Dec 2011.

National Indigenous Ear Health Campaign - Care for Kids’ Ears resource kit for early childhood and community groups The Care for Kids’ Ears campaign has been designed and produced to increase awareness of ear disease and hearing loss in Aboriginal and Islander communities. Targeted resources promoting the ear health message have been developed for parents and carers.

'How I became an Early Childhood Professional', by Alison Wunungmurra in Child Care News Issue 26 Alison Wunungmurra has written an article for Child Care News entitled 'How I became an Early Childhood Professional'. The article can be read on page 18 of Child Care News Issue 26, September 2011.

Perth children write champion book Aboriginal children in the Perth suburb of Armadale have become authors as part of a pilot WA literacy program aimed at engaging with culturally and linguistically diverse families to create books for pre-schoolers.

Go Forward For Men ‘No To Abuse’ group program - Cairns, QLD Based at Relationships Australia (QLD) the Go Forward For Men service is offering a 12 week program to help men remove abuse and violence from their relationships. It is a 12 week program. Running in Cairns from 6.00 pm to 8.30 pm Tuesdays. Starts 27th September 2011. Ends 13th December 2011.
