From a project conducted as a collaboration between the National Child Protection Clearinghouse and the SNAICC Resource Service, commissioned by the Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs on behalf of the Australian Council of Children and Parenting.

SNAICC’s new publication to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Bringing Them Home, the report of the National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children from their Families. A collection of essays by contributors sharing their reflections and recollections on the National Inquiry, how its report was received by the Australian public and government, and the continuing need for healing and a national apology to the Stolen Generations.

State of Denial: The neglect and abuse of Indigenous children in the Northern Territory. (2003)

Indigenous Parenting Project – Main Report and Execitive Summary - July 2005

The published report of SNAICC's project on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parenting and family issues is now available. Funded by FaCS, the project included focus groups with families and workers, stakeholder consultations, a national workshop and a program audit, run over the first half of 2004. It also included a literature review, which SNAICC contracted out to Swinburne University.

SNAICC has prepared a comprehensive report on parenting issues and the information and parenting program support needs of Indigenous families. The detailed Main Report and an Executive Summary of the project are are now available in print from the SNAICC office. Alternatively, you can download the electronic versions here.

Research Priorities for Indigenous Children and Youth – April 2005

This report provides approximately 50 recommendations to assist the Australian Research Alliance for Children & Youth (ARACY) in developing their research priorities for Indigenous children and youth.

SNAICC was commissioned by Curtin University to produce the report, to form the recommendations to ARACY. An initiative of the Commonwealth Government, ARACY undertakes research on the needs of all Australian children.

Early Childhood Case Studies

Report including 30 case studies of effective Indigenous early childhood services and programs from across Australia. The report was developed in a collaboration between SNAICC and the Centre for Community Child Health, CCCH. Case studies featured include parenting programs, child care services, family mentoring programs, playgroups, maternal and child health services. All states and territories are covered with contact details for each case study.
